Scottie Scheffller won the Masters, Players Championship and FedEx Cup.
Xander Schauffele has won two major championships, the PGA and the Open.
Who do you have?
The PGA Tour announced its nominees for the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year Award on Monday, with Scheffler, Schauffele and Rory McIlroy the candidates to be considered in a vote by Tour members.
The Tour also announced the nominees for the Arnold Palmer Rookie of the Year Award, Nick Dunlap, Max Greyserman, Jake Knapp and Matthieu Pavon.
Voting will be open until December 4 at 5 p.m., and the winners will be announced by the end of the year.
Will PGA Tour players enjoy two majors out of seven wins?
The question is whether players will lean toward Schauffele’s two majors over Scheffler’s, plus The Players (becoming the first to win back-to-back at the Stadium Course), the FedEx Cup and seven wins overall. Schauffele’s PGA and Open titles were his only two victories during the 2024 season.
Scheffler, who also won Olympic gold, is seeking the Player of the Year award three times, which will be the first time since Tiger Woods won from 2005 to 2007. Woods has also won five in a row between 1999 and 2003.
McIlroy has won three player of the year awards, but he is likely to be the odd man out. He has won twice on the PGA Tour but is still looking for his first major title since winning his fourth on the 2014 PGA.
Nick Dunlap favorite to win rookie award
Dunlap became the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour in 33 years when he won the American Express. He went on to win the Barracuda Championship, becoming the first player in history to win Tour events as an amateur and professional in the same season.
Knapp won the Mexican Open and Pavon the Farmers Insurance Open. Greyserman has finished second three times,
