The track and field star won the gold medal in the women’s 200 meters final at the Paris Summer Olympics.
Athletics star Gabby Thomas basked in her success after winning gold at the Paris Olympics this summer – but she finally thought about speaking out to a social media troll who doubted her.
Speaking to Thomas just makes me not want to see his Olympic medal…I just can’t put my finger on it!
Thomas, who won gold in the women’s 200 meters final, posted: “I wanted to come back to this, almost forgot.” She punctuated her response with a laughing and crying emoji as well as three gold medal emojis.

Thomas won the women’s 200m final at the Summer Games on August 6, crossing the finish line in 21.83 seconds. She finished 0.25 seconds faster than runner-up, Julien Afred of Saint Lucia, who won the country’s first gold medal in the 100m. Fellow American Brittney Brown took bronze behind them with a time of 22.20 seconds.
“It takes at least six years,” Thomas told reporters at the Stade de France, including PEOPLE.
She added: “It was all for this moment. My coach told me everything we have done so far – the Tokyo Olympics, the World Championships, even my injured 2022 – it It was for that, so that I was prepared and I was mature and I was ready.”

“I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would become an Olympic gold medalist and I am one and I’m still thinking about it,” Thomas continued.
The race marked the first Olympic gold medal for Thomas, who won both a silver and bronze medal at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Games.
