Fermin Lopez on Flick, titles & team atmosphere
Talking about Hansi Flick, Fermin explained how the German goes about his business, especially when it comes to imposing his presence in the dressing room.
“He is very close and always treats us well. Yes, he is demanding because he is the coach and being at Barcelona you have to be very demanding but he always tries to help us all,” he began saying.
We all get along well, most of us are very young and we all know each other. There is a great team cohesion between the youngsters and the veterans. We are a family and it shows on the pitch,” he added.
When asked about the language Flick uses to communicate with him, Fermin shared, “English, though he uses a few Spanish words.”
Regarding his own proficiency in English, Fermin commented, “Good, good.” As for German, he revealed, “I only know how to say ‘Guten Morgen.’ I learned that during the summer in Germany with the national team.”
Fermin then discussed Barcelona’s chances of winning all the available titles – La Liga, the Champions League, and the Copa Del Rey.
“Internally, we are prepared, and with each passing match, our belief grows. We had a rough end to the year, but now we’re back to where we were at the start.”
I am confident that we can continue like this until the end and achieve great things and celebrate with the fans who deserve it,” he said.
When asked about what he will do on May 31, Fermin added, “In the Champions League Final.”
Talking about the state of the team and the dressing room, Fermin said, “The best part is coming and also the hardest.
“We are in good dynamics, we are working well and we are ready for what is coming. It will be difficult and there will be difficult matches for us but we are very united to achieve our objectives, which are titles.”
Finally, Fermin was asked about his mindset, to which he responded, “I’ve had many difficult moments and I always try, no matter how many minutes, to give my best. We are Barcelona and we have to give 100% every minute.“
